The article states that the song was leaked by an insider who posted a message to Instagram that the lyrics were a “falsely attributed” story about the pop star.
According to the article, “BTS” singer J. Cole and his wife Beyoncé, who also co-wrote the song, were reportedly distraught at the time of the leak.

But the article states the leak “turned out to be an epic fail.”
“The truth about this is that she was not alone,” Cole told the Daily Beast, according with the article.
“The story was just an elaborate way of protecting the family.”
Cole, who was recently married to Rihanna, has since deleted the post and told reporters that he is “100 percent” “sad” and “heartbroken” about the situation.
“I was very saddened and heartbroken to hear of the false reports of this story,” Cole said in a statement to The Associated Press.
“As far as I am concerned, this is a false story and she is not alone in her pain.
I am not at liberty to comment further.”
“Bands that I’ve worked with are extremely important to me.
It is something that I deeply value,” he added.
“To share such hurtful and untrue allegations, however, is not a healthy thing to do.
This has been an extremely painful time for all involved.”
Rihanna has denied any involvement in the story and has yet to respond to the Daily Show’s claims.
The news of the “Echoes” song leak came just two days after the song’s release on Tuesday, with the album expected to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
